I left New York for tropical Thailand in order to continue my pursuit as a landscape and cultural photographer. I'll be teaching Math in Ranong, exploring South East Asia and writing about my embarassments along the way. Follow along for laughs and photos as I move away from the big city for small town Thailand.

Prints are for sale!

We started our course today; technically TESOL starts next week, but we've started our Thai language and our politics and culture sessions. Everything has been really interesting and I love our language classes. Benz, our Thai teacher, is hilarious. We've taught her "Bye Felicia" and now she uses it whenever we leave for the day; so awesome.

This is fabulous Benz:

Benz la Diva

Benz is our Thai language teacher, gossip extraordinaire and market guru.

After Benz we have our TESOL instructor Paul. He seems quiet, but he starts next maybe he's crazy and really good at hiding it? Probs not, but I like him anyway. He reminds me of the roomies back home so for now, he's on the Christmas list.

Paul H.

TESOL instructor, photographer and new to Chiang Mai.

These two make up the XploreAsia staff in Chiang Mai and are who we will be spending most of our time with over the next month. If any one is interested in teaching English abroad, check out XploreAsia ( So far, they've been awesome :)
