A gallery of images from Iceland, Greece, Morocco, Germany and the United States. These images are rich with texture, color and atmosphere creating the most realistic version of what was seen in that moment. Patience, light and the occassional neutral density filter helped create LAND.
From glaciers to waterfalls, there's something very cathartic about photographing moving water. These images show a silky smooth channel of movement that represents a more natural landscape. Patience is a great friend when capturing water along with some black glass. Together these components create WATER.
Mountains line the Iceland landscape. From low hanging clouds to the warmth of sun rises and sun sets, textures unfold and showcase ice covered rock and moss. Tiny waterfalls sneak forward and fall slowly while descending mountainsides point towards nearby lava fields. Texture, light and imagination make MOUNTAINS.
Sand creates organic patterns and leaves impressions from all its travelers. From the beach to the desert, movement is shown and erased within moments. Contrast and shadows create patterns and long exposure creates drama and together these create SAND.
Morocco is a vibrant country full of wide open landscapes between bustling cities. Behind the snake charmers and rug shops are colorful alley ways, eclectic sounds and some of the most intersting people I've ever met.
This is Morocco.
TURKS + CAICOS
Turquoise water, coral reefs and dynamic clouds make for incredible images from sunrise to sunset. Colors are naturally saturated as far as the eye can see and boats seem to float on air as the crystal clear water propels them forward. This is TURKS + CAICOS.
Thailand is a remarkable country. There is a sense of unity and community that resonates through the people. From children sharing food at lunch time, to one parent picking up seven students from school, the community works together to further one another. As an english teacher in a Thai school, I have been fortunate enough to see and be a part of their culture. Having first hand experience with the Thai community and the overwhelming hospitality that comes with it has been one of the most challenging, yet fulfilling experiences of my life.
While this collection of images is not a cohesive body of work currently, it represents the on-goings of life and culture here in Thailand. From traveling to tutoring, these are my moments and this is THAILAND.

INDONESIA | TIMOR ZERO HUNGER
On assignment with NGO, Church World Services, I spent time with their Timor Zero Hunger project in West Timor, Indonesia. Here we visited Enonuabuasa, a sub-hamlet of Eonfetnai. Their community was suffering from malnutrition and skin rashes as a result of poor sanitation and lack of nutritious food. Through CWS's sustainable agricultural training and seeds for the first crop, the community planted their first harvest and grew enough food to feed themselves and used the surplus to sell in the local markets as an income generating opportunity. In this piece, the community is planting their second harvest using growth from the previous harvest season. They are now self-sufficient farmers, are able to provide nutritious food for their family and a select few are using their new earnings to start small kiosks selling snacks and gasoline.
CWS holds agricultural technique trainings in Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar. They believe in educating developing communities how to be self sufficient so they may sustain far after CWS training sessions. In addition to #TimorZeroHunger, CWS completes WASH training, which educates the locals on clean water and sanitation. They teach community members of the negative consequences of open deification and brings latrine systems to families without toilet options. Additionally, they show how to cook nutritious meals with the food they are able to grow for mothers with children under 5 years.
